The German family-owned company has won yet another coveted design prize – this time on the international stage. The International Design Award – or IDA for short – is one of America’s leading design prizes, and Solarlux competing with thousands of submissions from a total of 95 different countries.
The innovative company won over judges in the “Product” category with its new bi-folding door. Naturally, the entire company was delighted to have won another “gold” prize. The renowned jury, which was made up of famous international architects, editors of important architecture journals and experts from the design and architecture scene, was particularly impressed by the design of the bi-folding door.
Another Solarlux project also received recognition from the jury: the Solarlux-sponsored book “Laka Perspectives” received an “honourable mention” in acknowledgement of the dedication shown by the company and designers.
About the award
The International Design Award – IDA for short – is America’s leading design prize. Founded in 2007, it aims to recognise, celebrate and promote visionary designers and up-and-coming talent. For the eleventh time, the award ceremony was held in Los Angeles. Solarlux was competing for the first time.
